TUTOR IN: STREET DANCE
Lizzi has attended the school since the age of 2 and she began assisting Christine and Debbie around 6 years ago in teaching classes. She is currently working towards her associate teachers award in Jazz to become a fully qualified teacher.
Lizzi attended The University of Lincoln, where she joined the university's dance society. In her first year, she was asked to teach a limbering class as part of the society and she continued this in her second year as well as teaching a beginner's ballet class. In her third year, Lizzi was elected as President of the dance society, which had a member span of 250+ dancers and a committee of 10 people and 25 teachers to supervise. The role involved organising events, fundraisers and trips and an end of year show, which was very successful. On top of this, Lizzi continued teaching her limbering class as well as an Advanced Jazz class, for which she was voted 'Best Teacher' and 'Best Dance' in the show.
In the summer of 2015, Lizzi worked at a summer camp in the USA, where she was a lifeguard and dance teacher. As part of this role, she was then asked to take up the role of 'Dance Area Head' and be the point of contact for all other dance teachers at the camp. She was praised several times by the camp director for her choreography and teaching style.
As well as dancing, Lizzi is part of a cheerleading squad and has won several competitions both at regional and national level. As part of her cheerleading, Lizzi has appeared performing in the X Factor final and during the half time show at Wembley Stadium for a televised rugby game.
Lizzi plans to remain very involved in the dancing school in the future and hopes to participate more in the organisation and administration.
